Ailani collects only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Situation descriptions: The text you enter to describe emotional situations. This is sent to our AI provider to generate responses.
- Session data: A temporary session token stored in your browser's sessionStorage to maintain your authenticated session. This is never transmitted to our servers and is cleared when you close the browser tab.
- Usage data: Basic, anonymous analytics such as page views and error rates to help us improve the product. No personally identifiable information is included.
How We Use Your Information
The text you enter into Ailani is used solely to generate a response from our AI model and is not stored, logged, or associated with any user identity. We do not sell, rent, or share your inputs with any third party for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
Ailani uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Anthropic: Our AI provider that processes your situation descriptions to generate coaching responses. Anthropic's data practices are governed by their own privacy policy.
- Vercel: Our hosting provider. Vercel may collect standard server logs including IP addresses as part of normal web hosting operations.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these providers for details on how they handle data.
Cookies
Ailani does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We use only a session-based authentication token stored in your browser's sessionStorage (not in a cookie), which expires automatically when your browser tab is closed. We do not use cookies for analytics or any other purpose.
Data Retention
We do not retain your situation descriptions or any personally identifiable information after your session ends. Anonymized usage analytics may be retained for up to 12 months to help improve the service.
Your Rights
Because we do not store personally identifiable information linked to you, there is generally no personal data for us to retrieve, correct, or delete. If you have questions about specific data, please contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Ailani is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Ailani after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
